December 31, 2018

The end of a great year...children doing well,, grand kids getting bigger, older, cuter.. Wife?  greatest thing on earth !  Puts up with me.  and turns a blind eye when I fall on my face...

Went to Florida to visit some friends this past winter (March)....
took a Motorcycle trip to the Adirondaks, Lake George, Paul Smith's in the woods and back thru the mountains..

Visited Montauk with the "riders".. Ate in some great places this past summer..

I find little things make me happy..Getting up without pain..#1  on the hit  parade..going to Breakfast  with the bride a few time a week and filling in the gaps  having  breakfast with friends with motorcycles...
You want to hear grown men talking crap..l;isten to Motorheads "B-ssing about their machines..

Aching to travel this summer..going south... getting on the Blue Ridge and possibly seeing a cuz I haven't seen in about 65 years... continuing on the Blueridge to North Carolina.. visit  folks along the way ..no one special.. just folks along the way !..coming back along the coast...NOt going to do this when I am 8-0  so might's well get it out of  my system..  I had wanted to cross country once  BUT...well between the bikes of the past and the bones of now...I might  go west again someday....

2018 and a Grandfather!

If you live in New York city area.. and seen the Channel  9 Logo

They have a lil guy in a green n gray box called "my 9"...well,,,,,
as in the past, While riding motorcycle #8 I went past a dealer....
NOT just a dealer,,BUT a Kawasaki dealer... WEll if ya know me,
all I ride is Kawi's  BIG shiny ones !

WEll I stopped and there was this white thing in the window...
I walked in,, and it called me right away.." hey big guy" don't look at anything else,, HERE I AM !

I sat on it,, that 's the sign for the salesman to come over with the order pad.. yeah, I know  ...70 something years old and still buying bikes,,something is wrong here.  WHITE  !  BIG !.. had to  have it !  needed it right away !  didn't even call the bride.. went home collected two bikes in the garage and took them back for the trade in.. went to the bank and emptied the pishka..( yiddish for piggy bank ),, Have it ready this afternoon! nice...  had to have it.. Called the  "GANG"  that 's a nice word for a bunch of 70 year-old- old farts riding bikes..
Gray Riders by name,, aches and pains  is our motto !  well, 22,000 miles later here we are..big as life riding machine  #9  Logo on the back..."MY 9" just like the channel logo,,had to have it !!! Baltimore, New England, Lake George  Adirondack's  ride like the wind !  AM/FM radio, Power steering.. Cruise control, air conditioning (not really) .. all the bells n whistles...

This summer we ride the Blue Ridge and the Skyline drive to the Carolinas, sit back and cruise the coast back up.. nice...

Well going on 76  next month and I still have the aches n pains  BUT  get on the pony and they disappear..6-7 days 2,000 miles come home and the bride asks
how was it. .I lie,,, tell her it's great..  BUT  the rides are gittin ' smaller !

Till next time !  see ya !

Well time for an up date.. three years ago I traded  this white thingy in and bought a three wheeled critter call a Can Am Spyder RT.. that will be another story !!!
